Nathan Shock Centers Annual Meeting 2026

April 27-28, 2026

The Nathan Shock Centers Annual Meeting 2026 was hosted in Bethesda. In this meeting, Dr. Vera Gorbunova gave a New Nathan Shock Center Presentation, and Dr. Andrei Seluanov gave a presentation about the Live Animal Resource Core at the University of Rochester. Dr. M. Kerry O’Banion, Dr. Floria Uy, Dr. Karl Glastad, and Dr. Hongbo Liu attended the meeting and presented posters.

This full day conference features a keynote address by a national/international aging research expert as well as highlights the groundbreaking work of our University of Rochester aging investigators.

Rochester named site of research center to study the biology of aging

July 15, 2025

The National Institute on Aging has awarded the Nathan Shock Center awarded Rochester a five-year grant to establish the Upstate NY Comparative Biology of Aging Nathan Shock Center. The Upstate NY Comparative Biology of Aging Nathan Shock Center will be one of only eight such centers in the United States. The core team of the new center includes faculty members from the River Campus and the University of Rochester Medical Center, with areas of expertise in veterinary biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, mass spectrometry, and bioinformatics.
